Biography

Dr. Alisha Poonja completed a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Anatomy and Cell Biology at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. She went on to earn a Doctorate Degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. With great discipline and hard work, she earned numerous scholarships and was inducted into the National Pi Delta Honour Society. Dr. Poonja completed her residency training at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. Her residency training exposed her to a diverse patient population where she developed clinical and surgical skills to treat a wide array of foot and ankle pathologies. Dr. Poonja has also completed advanced courses in foot and ankle arthroscopy, internal and external fixation and minimally invasive surgical techniques. She continues to attend advanced surgical courses to bring the most recent techniques to her practice. When is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, and reading.
